On the first Friday of each month, any business, startup, SME preparing for an investment pitch or high stakes business presentation, is invited to the Pitchn offices after work hours, to practise their pitch delivery by performing their presentation to a select group fellow “pitchers”.
Each registered pitch team is allocated 20 minutes;
- 4 minutes set up time
- 8 minutes pitch delivery
- 8 minutes Q & A from audience
As conditions of entry, audience members are asked to appraise each pitch performance, using the scorecards provided by the Pitchn team, of which are collected at the end of the night. The scores and comments are consolidated and the feedback is returned to each pitch team for their information.
All pitch night participants are required sign confidentiality agreements that enforces the legal requirement for non-disclosure- basically “whatever information is pitched in the room – stays in the room”. This rule is stringently enforced and is of top priority.
The pitch prep nights are capped at 5 pitch teams (max. 5 attendees per pitch team). The agenda loosely follows the following schedule;
Start: 6.30pm (sharp) – Brief introduction, & housekeeping as food & drinks served
6.50pm – 7.10pm Pitch One
7.15pm – 7.35pm Pitch Two
7.35pm – 7.45pm Brief Toilet break
7.5opm – 8.10pm Pitch Three
8.15pm – 8.35pm Pitch Four
8.40pm – 9.00pm Pitch Five
9.05pm Scorecards collected – end of evening
It costs $200 (ex GST) to register a pitch team, and if the “pitch team” comprises of more than two people, it is an additional $30 pp for extra team members. This cost covers catering (food platters both hot / cold, and tea & coffee), administration & room hire.
